Chance Ragains
Managing Director & CEO
Chance oversees all areas of the company’s operations and management. Prior to founding Patoka Capital, Chance served as the COO of Great Escape Theatres, where he led the development and growth of one of the largest motion picture exhibitors in the country, successfully exiting Great Escape to Regal Cinemas in 2012.
Chance received his B.S. in finance from Butler University.
Dan A. Von Behren
Managing Director
Dan focuses on executing acquisitions and managing the portfolio companies. Dan has over 25 years of experience as an operational executive, including serving as General Manager, COO, CFO and President of businesses ranging in size from $50M to $500M. Dan started his career at Eaton Corporation, a $13B industrial manufacturer, where he served as a financial executive with global responsibilities. He later worked for several private equity firms in portfolio executive roles growing, restructuring, and executing successful transactions. He founded CFO Services, a transaction and consulting firm that has closed over $750 million of successful transactions.
Dan received his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University, master’s degree from Nazareth College, and attended Oxford University as part of an honors program. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Kentucky.
Anne Ragains
Chairwoman Emeritus
Anne Ragains’s insight as a serial entrepreneur is invaluable to our firm. Anne’s accolades include founding and serving as CEO of Great Escape Theatres®, which was one of the largest movie theatre chains in the United States when it was sold in 2012.
After graduating from Indiana University, Anne began her career as an elementary school teacher. Later, Anne formed a very successful company involved in the acquisition and development of real estate. In 1990, Anne made her first foray into the private equity world by acquiring and revitalizing a company called Telemessaging Inc., which she still owns today.
In 1997, Anne built her first movie theatre in Bedford, IN, which was the start of the Great Escape chain. Ms. Ragains had the foresight to build first class stadium seating movie theatres in underserved markets. By 2012, when Anne sold Great Escape to Regal Entertainment Group, the chain had 26 locations in 13 states.
Steven Wilson
Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel
Steve is an entrepreneurial and results-oriented general counsel and business executive with extensive experience analyzing, structuring, negotiating and closing sophisticated commercial transactions. As in-house legal counsel to the company, he provides legal advice and guidance on a wide range of issues including corporate governance, deal evaluation and structuring, operations, HR, management, leasing, construction, land-use and zoning, title, contract review, litigation, drafting and negotiation. Prior to his role with Patoka, Steve spent over a decade in private practice including five years as partner with the law firm Bingham Greenebaum Doll, LLP (now known as Dentons).
Steve received his B.A. (magna cum laude) from Eastern Kentucky University and his J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law (cum laude) where he served as Executive Editor on the Law Review. He is a board member of and serves as Vice President for Economic Development for the Oldham Chamber and is president of a local non-profit he co-founded, Business Leaders of Oldham County. He also serves as a board member of Cabbage Patch Settlement House in Louisville, Kentucky.
Ron Krueger
President of Xscape Theatres
Ron is a 30-year exhibition industry veteran and a fourth-generation movie theatre operator. He joined Xscape Theatres in December of 2023 as President. He started his career in the industry as an usher with his family’s theatre circuit, Wehrenberg Theatres in 1983. He progressed through various positions and responsibilities including projectionist, theatre manager, and accounting supervisor before taking a break to finish graduate school. After completing his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Ron joined the Treasury Department at Ralston Purina Company in 1991 as a financial analyst. In 1994, he rejoined the family business overseeing IT and internal audit. He then advanced to Director of Operations and then President of the company in 2000.
In 2008 Ron then joined VSS Southern Theatres as President and COO. There he guided the Grand and Amstar Theatre locations along with entrepreneur and company founder George Solomon. They grew the organization to 18 traditional theatre sites. They then purchased Movie Tavern in 2013 and grew that division to 22 locations. The Movie Tavern locations were then sold to Marcus Theatres in 2019. During the pandemic, Ron lobbied extensively on behalf of the industry helping secure significant state and federal grant funding to help ensure the continuation of the industry. Ron then helped facilitate the sale of the Grand and Amstar locations to Santikos Enterprises in the summer of 2023.
Ron is a proud alumnus of Indiana University where he received his BSBA degree in Finance in 1989. In addition to his love of the theatre industry, he is passionate about its industry associations and charities. He has served on the National Association of Theatres Owners board since 1995 and served on the executive board from 2017-2023. He also served on the regional NATO association board, Theatre Owners of Mid America from 2012 – 2023. He is also a past president of the National Association of Concessionaires. On the charity side, he served on the Board of Governors for 9 years at Shriners Hospital for Children’s, St. Louis. He also served as president of Variety The Children’s Charity of the US from 2016-2018. He currently sits on the board of US Variety and serves on the board of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers, both key industry charities.
Scott Bagwell
VP of Theatre Operations
Scott is a proven self-starter with over 29 years of management experience in the movie theatre industry. He was raised to have a strong work ethic, which was reinforced when he joined the U.S. Army. Over the years, Scott has been an integral part of running, designing, and opening theatres. In addition to that experience, he was the CEO and Film Buyer for Perry Enterprises. Scott joined Great Escape Theatres in February 2009, as Director of Operations – West Division, and held that position until February 2010, until he was approached by Perry Enterprises to head up and run the company in Gaffney, South Carolina.
Scott joined Patoka capital in early 2014. Scott’s responsibilities include making sure all aspects of the theatres run smoothly and efficiently and plays a key role in the construction of future sites. He strives to encourage and exemplify a strong work ethic by working side-by-side with his team.
Sherry Jenkins
VP of Accounting
Sherry Jenkins, CMA joined Patoka Capital in 2011. Prior to Patoka, she spent two years as a Staff Accountant at KYFI, Inc. and 10 years as an accounting clerk at Morgan & Pottinger, P.S.C.
She received her degree in accounting from Indiana University and her CMA certification from the Institute of Management Accountants.
Shannon Carney
Corporate HR and Payroll Manager
Shannon joined the Patoka Capital team in the spring of 2024.
William Geltmaker
Theatre District Manager
Billy has been in the movie theatre industry for over 20 years. He started his career in 1995 for the Cinemark Theatre chain as a concessions employee. In 2003, Billy had the opportunity to work with Aliance Entertainment/Great Escape Theatres as a part time projection manager, and attained his first General Manager position with the company at their 16 screen Clarksville, TN location. Over the next several years, he helped open and manage two new facilities in St. Louis, MO & Atlanta, GA, and opened 6 additional locations across the country for the Ragains Family as Operations and District Manager.
Billy holds the position of District Manager at Patoka Capital/Xscape Theatres, in which he manages all Xscape locations, with additional locations being added every year. Over the last few years, Billy has helped the company grow new concepts such as Duel Xtreme Premium Large Format Screens, Dolby Atmos Surround Sound, electric reclining seats, and an expanded food menu including Beer and Wine. Billy also acquired additional experience in movie theatre in-house restaurants and food & beverage service while working with the National Amusements Theatre chain from 2007 thru 2009 as a Manager of Concession Operations and a Food Service Director.
Billy’s favorite movie is “The Dark Knight”.
Dakota Puckett
Facilities Manager
Dakota joined the Patoka Capital team in the spring of 2024.
Corry Hodges
Marketing Coordinator
Corry joined Patoka Capital in the summer of 2017. Prior to Patoka, he spent two years as the Marketing Director for Prospect Jewelers Legacy. He received his bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of Southern Indiana.
Ross Mitchell
Accounting Supervisor
Ross joined Patoka Capital in the fall of 2020. Prior to Patoka, he spent over 10 years as a theatre General Manager for both Great Escape Theatres and Regal Cinemas here locally in Southern Indiana.
Ross has received a Bachelor's degree in both management and accounting from Indiana University Southeast and Purdue University Global, respectively. He earned his MBA from Purdue University Global in the fall of 2022.
Megan Robb
Staff Accountant
Megan joined Patoka Capital in 2021. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business from Indiana University in 2018. Preceding Patoka she worked in the banking industry for three years as an accountant for First Savings Bank.
Kaylee Smith
Accounting Associate
Kaylee joined the Patoka Capital team in the spring of 2017. Prior to Patoka, she spent one year as a customer service representative at AIG.
