Jan. 3—NEW ALBANY — A new senior living facility will open this spring in New Albany.

Rivercrest Senior Living is under construction at 4917 Grant Line Road and is expected to open in March or April. The campus is part of Trilogy Health Services, which also operates Autumn Woods Health Campus and The Villages at Historic Silvercrest in New Albany.

"It's wonderful to be able to offer these services to seniors in the community and let them know that there are more options out there for them," said Rivercrest Community Services Representative Heidi Henry.

The facility includes 16 independent-living homes, 23 memory care apartments, and 56 assisted-living apartments. Rivercrest is now accepting reservations.

"We're already having residents who are ready to move in, so that's exciting," Henry said.

The patio homes for independent living feature attached garages and laundry rooms, and the community offers housekeeping and lawn maintenance services.

The assisted-living neighborhood will feature 24/7 licensed nursing coverage and daily assistance and quality skilled nursing and post-acute health care are offered on site.

The assisted-living options include both private and semi-private suites with full bathrooms and walk-in showers. Residents will also have access to on-site wellness and therapy services and "life enrichment" programs.

The memory care community features private suites and planned programs, as well as monthly Alzheimer's/dementia support groups for family members. Rivercrest will use the "Best Friends Approach to Dementia Care," which includes a focus on socialization for those with dementia.

The campus will provide a variety of activities for residents.

"We're going to offer senior executive clubs, lunch-and-learns, so it will not only be a nice space for seniors to age in place and move into but also to come and visit and get education or activities and socialization," Henry said.

Trilogy creates a welcoming environment for families, Henry said. The provider offers programs such as family nights and Sunday brunches.

The "Live a Dream" program helps residents cross off goals on their bucket lists.

"So if a resident comes here and they've always wanted to mark something off their bucket list, we can get that done for them," Henry said. "We've done a hot air balloon at Silvercrest. We've had residents sing at baseball games. I think that's what sets our care apart from other campuses out there."

The costs vary depending on the floor plan and type of care. An assisted-living studio with one bath starts at $4,899 a month, according to the Rivercrest website. A two-bedroom independent living villa starts at $3,099 a month, and a one-bed studio memory care starts at $6,999 a month.

Henry said she looks forward to meeting the residents and "building those connections."

"I'm just super excited to start building those relationships and being able to provide them with excellent care and services," she said.
